The Avengers will need your help assembling in this ambitious Marvel-inspired combative playground, as seen in Crystal Dynamics’ latest trailer.
The new Avengers game is geared up to be almost everything fans want from a console outing, for one of the biggest hero franchises in modern times, or so this brand-new trailer will have you believe.
This epic title will boast fan favourite Marvel characters, an interesting overarching story that appears to be a deconstruction of the superhero genre, and a cool loot system, in direct comparison to the likes of Destiny and Borderlands.
“The story begins on A-Day, where the Avengers are celebrating the unveiling of a second headquarters in San Francisco – including the reveal of their own helicarrier powered by a Terrigen crystal. The ceremony soon goes awry when a catastrophic incident results in most of the city being destroyed and the apparent death of Captain America. Blamed for the tragedy, the Avengers disband. Five years later, the rebuilt city is now under the control of A.I.M. and superheroes are outlawed. But with the world in peril once more, Kamala Khan uncovers a shocking conspiracy and embarks on a quest to reassemble Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, avenge Captain America’s death, and uncover the true culprit behind A-Day,” reads the game’s Wikipedia entry.
Den of geek, reports that former Naughty Dog creative director Shaun Escayg and 27-year games veteran Stephen Barry are working to ensure the quality of the game’s build, meaning the title is in safe hands.
Expect it for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on May 15, 2020.
